I Love Penongs!

January 24, 2008

My bessy, hubby and I just got home from Penongs. We had our dinner there because I didn’t feel like cooking tonight. Our first plan was to go to McDonald’s and just eat McFlurry and French Fries but they ran out of stock so we decided to look for another place and since Penongs is just nearby, we all headed there. As usual, hubby and I ordered Inato 2 and bessy ordered Inato 3. We also ordered Chicharong Bulaklak, yummy! Now I am feeling guilty because I pigged out again. Yay! But I can’t really help it. Penongs serves the tastiest and the yummiest grilled chicken in town. Nakakawala ng "diet"… hehehe!

A Long Distance Love Affair

January 23, 2008

Last year, I played matchmaker to two of my bestest friends. I first introduced them through Friendster and when Jon went home for a vacation May of last year, I was also the one who arranged their first date and even played chaperon for my friend, Kathy. In short, I was the third party. lol! But after 4 months of staying here in the Philippines, Jon needed to go back to New Jersey to finish his studies. They promised to keep in touch always but you know how expensive international phones calls are. Well yeah, there’s YM or MSN but Kathy is just using a dial-up connection so the voice chat quality isn’t that good. So their last resort is to communicate through a landline phone. It’s cheaper that way and it’s more convenient because Jon can buy or reload his phone card anytime online. And sure I’m glad I found GetMeCallingCards.com. It is one of the largest retailers of international calling cards. I will definitely recommend this site to Jon. He will save BIG especially if he uses this Candy Phone Card which will give him 55 minutes talk time for only $2.99! And what’s great about this card is that it doesn’t have a connection fee. It’s indeed a big savings on his part and because it is very affordable, Jon can now call Kathy anytime he likes and keep their LOVE alive despite the DISTANCE.

When you have an "I Hate My Job" Day

January 22, 2008

On your way home from work, stop at your pharmacy and go to the thermometer section and purchase a rectal thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson ~ Be very sure you get this brand. When you get home, lock your doors, draw the curtains and disconnect the phone so you will not be disturbed.

Change into very comfortable clothing and sit in your favorite chair. Open the package and remove the thermometer. Now, carefully place it on a table or a surface so that it will not become chipped or broken.

Now the fun part begins. Take out the literature from the box and read it carefully. You will notice that in small print there is a statement:

"Every Rectal Thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson is personally tested and then sanitized ".

Now, close yo ur eyes and repeat out loud five times, "I am so glad I do not work in the thermometer Quality Control Department at Johnson & Johnson."

HAVE A NICE DAY AND REMEMBER, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE WITH A JOB THAT IS MORE OF A PAIN IN THE A$$ THAN YOURS.

eCommerce

My brother-in-law owns a small web hosting company and I have been urging him to put an automated checkout counter so he can still do business even if he is away from his computer. And of course, this is one way to ensure that he gets fully paid before he hosts them because what happens most of the time is that his clients would only give him a 50% down payment and the rest is paid in staggered. Well, he liked my idea but he doesn’t know where to find an affordable and secured shopping cart software so I recommended Ashop Commerce.

Ashop Commerce is the leading provider of ecommerce software packed with a complete solution for merchants to sell online. It’s very affordable, easy to use, offers full service with technical support and customer service, 100% optimized for search engines, has a customizable design without restrictions and a TOTAL SOLUTION with free hosted emails, checkout security, design services, full fraud alerts and web promotion services.

Virgo Horoscope for January 21, 2008

The Bottom Line

Too many overbearing people are in your life right now — tell them to back off!

In Detail

It might feel like there are too many overbearing people in your life right now. Everyone seems to know exactly what you should do next, and they aren’t shy about telling you! These bossy bosses truly do have your best interests at heart, so try not to be too angry about their meddlesome ways. Just smile, and thank them for their interest. But make it clear to them that you are in charge of your life, and right or wrong, your decisions are the ones that will guide your life.

Overly Excited

As I have mentioned in my previous post, my husband and I are scheduled to migrate to Tucson, Arizona this year. We are just waiting for our US Visa to arrive. Hubby’s aunt, who lives with her family in Las Vegas cannot contain her excitement when we told her the good news. She calls us almost every week just to check if we already have our visas. She really wants us to pay them a visit in Las Vegas because we are the closest to them in terms of affinity and proximity. You know how Filipinos are, we really value family ties and although we will be living six to seven hours away from them, still she treats us like we’re living next door. Haha! Anyway, she already made an itinerary once we get to Las Vegas. On top of her list is the National Finals Rodeo. She and her husband are a big fan I tell ya! ;) She was really hoping we would make it last November because this event which they call as the Super Bowl of Rodeo is held every first week of December. If hubby didn’t stop her, she could have gotten us a Wrangler National Finals Rodeo tickets in advance. She’s overly excited indeed! lol!

By the way, the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) is the premier championship rodeo event in the United States. It is held each year in the first full week of December, at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in Las Vegas, Nevada. There are 8 events to watch out for and these are: bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, bull riding and barrel racing (an exclusive event for women). NFR is organized by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and has been running since 1958.
