Fine Dining in London

September 18, 2007

One of the places that I have been "wishing and hoping" to visit one day is London. I wanted to experience how it's like to fine dine in one of the most elegant London restaurants. But the problem is I don't know where exactly to go if this dream do come true so I searched the internet and found Trusted Places. It is a community website featuring London's restaurants, bars and pubs, cafes, culture, shopping, hotels and a lot more with reviews and ranking provided by the community members themselves. The site is so easy to load and browse and listings are sorted according to alphabetical order, rating or by the number of times it has been reviewed. So if you're planning to visit London one of these days, be sure to check out trustedplaces.com.

Rogue Assassin

We watched this movie last week and dear hubby enjoyed it a lot while I, on the other hand, had some sort of panic attack. lol! :) Well, I'm not really a big fan of action movies and it so happened that this movie is jampacked with bloody and brutal scenes so I was covering my eyes half of the time. Hahaha! So if you're planning to watch this movie, better not bring your kids. This movie is definitely not for the kids and for the kids at heart as well.

Here's a synopsis of the movie I got at Yahoo Movies:

After his partner Tom Wynne and family are killed apparently by the infamous and elusive assassin Rogue, FBI agent Jack Crawford becomes obsessed with revenge as his world unravels into a vortex of guilt and betrayal. Rogue eventually resurfaces to settle a score of his own, igniting a bloody crime war between Asian mob rivals Chang of the Triad's and Yakuza boss Shiro. When Jack and Rogue finally come face to face, the ultimate truth of their pasts will be revealed.

Memory Enhancers for Christian Bautista

Golly, I just saw on TV the BIG boo-boo Christian Bautista made during Gerry Peñalosa's exhibition game in Alabang last Sunday. He forgot a few lines of the Philippine National Anthem and made a shortcut. Here's an excerpt of the news from ABS-CBNNews.com:

The controversial scene involved Bautista, who sang the “Lupang Hinirang” in the middle of the boxing ring surrounded by fans who flocked to see Peñalosa’s exhibition game at the Metropolis Star mall.

Near the end of "Lupang Hinirang" (Chosen Land), Bautista sang the lines "Ang bituin at araw na kailanpama'y di magdidilim. Lupa ng araw ng luwalhati't pagsinta." He missed two lines and then finished the song with the final line "Ang mamatay ng dahil sa 'yo!"

But at least he made a public apology and promised to do better next time.

“It feels bad for me kasi being a Filipino I feel very nationalistic and here I am..parang because of a lapse in memory I really feel bad sa nangyari. I don’t know siguro iyung moment, adrenalin, excitement, I was recovering from a sickness siguro naghalo tapos I just couldn’t find the words,” he explained.

Free Piano Lessons

September 17, 2007

One of my frustrations in life is not knowing how to play any musical instrument. I can sing and can carry a tune well that is why knowing how to play the piano or guitar would have been a big PLUS on my music career. Yup, I’m a self-confessed singer! lol! But seriously, I have been planning to take piano lessons but some people would say I’m too old for it and my fingers are too short. I was discouraged. :( But when I read this article “94 Year Old Man Learns Piano” linked at Chord Guy’s blog in Blogspot, a new hope bloomed in me. If a 94-year old man can do it, why can’t I?

By the way, Chord Guy is the author of Piano Chords Blog. I found his blog when I searched for FREE piano lessons online. He also shares his expertise on piano chords and chord progressions, music theory, transposition, modulation, improvisation and has sheet music lessons available to his readers who are interested to learn piano. I already bookmarked the site because I know it will come handy when I start taking private piano lessons.

Tired to the Max!

September 11, 2007

Golly! I was so tired doing our laundry yesterday which started from 2:30pm and ended around 7:30pm. I can't believe I was able to wash all our dirty clothes in one day! I washed 3 towels, 6 pairs of denim pants, 1 bed sheet and lots of shirts and house clothes. Hubby even scolded me for doing it alone but I couldn't wait for him any longer. I have to do it yesterday or else wait another week 'til I have to buy another laundry basket again. Just imagine the body pains I am experiencing right now. Aargh! Being a housewife is really hard you know. You can't just sit and stay pretty because household chores are waiting for you. :(
