7 Reasons Not To Mess with Kids

April 4, 2007

This email was forwarded to me by my sister and I couldn't resist sharing it to you. Children can be so brutally innocent sometimes. Hahaha!  I hope you will have a good laugh after reading this.  Here goes:

==========
A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.
The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah".
The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?"
The little girl replied, "Then you ask him ".

==========
A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work.
As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.
The girl replied, "I'm drawing God."
The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like."
Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, "They will in a minute."

 ==========
A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds.
After explaining the commandment to "honor" thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?"
Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, "Thou shall not kill."

 ==========
One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head.
She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, "Why are some of your hairs white, Mom?"
Her mother replied, "Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white."
The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, "Momma, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?"

 ==========
The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture.
"Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'
A small voice at the back of the room rang out, "And there's the teacher, she's dead."

 ==========
A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, "Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face."
"Yes," the class said.
"Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?"
A little fellow shouted,
"Cause your feet ain't empty."

 ==========
The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:
"Take only ONE. God is watching."
Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.
A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples.

One and Only in the Philippines

March 31, 2007

Last Sunday, I got so fascinated with Rated K's topic. They featured 3 places in the Philippines which is considered as "one and only" in the country. Here they are:

 Palawan is the one and only province in the Philippines that has not been hit by an earthquake!

 Bantayan, Cebu is the one and only place in the Philippines permitted by the Catholic Church to eat meat during Good Friday.

 Sulu is the one and only province in the Philippines that has not been hit by a typhoon!

ASTIGMATISM!!!

March 27, 2007

please go away!  I really hate it when my astigmatism attacks. It makes me feel dizzy and makes me vomit. This is one of the reasons why I resigned at the Call Center aside from working on graveyard shifts. I just couldn't stand working infront of the PC for 10 straight hours.  I made a research on the definition, symptoms and treatment of astigmatism just to give you an idea of what I am talking about.

What is Astigmatism?

Astigmatism is an affliction of the eye, where vision is blurred by an irregularly shaped cornea. The cornea, instead of being shaped like a sphere, is more oval-like and reduces the cornea's ability to focus light. Astigmatism is a refractive error of the eye in which there is a difference in degree of refraction in different meridians. So, rather than the surface topology of the eye being spherical, it has two curves, one steeper than the other, in a similar way to the shape of an oval. The condition is typically characterized by an aspherical, non-figure of revolution cornea in which the corneal profile slope and refractive power in one meridian is greater than that of the perpendicular axis. Astigmatism causes difficulties in seeing fine detail, and can often be corrected by glasses with a cylindrical lens (i.e. a lens that has different radii of curvature in different planes), contact lenses, or refractive surgery.

What are the Symptoms?

Although mild astigmatism may be asymptomatic, higher amounts of astigmatism may cause symptoms such as blurry vision, squinting, asthenopia, fatigue, or headaches.

How is it Treated?

Astigmatism may be corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses, or refractive surgery. Various considerations involving ocular health, refractive status, and lifestyle frequently determine whether one option may be better than another. In those with keratoconus, rigid gas permeable contact lenses often enable patients to achieve better visual acuities than eyeglasses. If the astigmatism is caused by a problem such as deformation of the eyeball due to a Chalazion, treating the underlying cause will resolve the astigmatism.

I Want to have this…

March 26, 2007

The comfort and ease of a traditional notebook combined with the versatility of a tablet best describes the eye-catching LifeBook T4215 Tablet PC. Built-in modular bay, integrated wireless access, and the latest Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology or optional Wi-Fi® certified Atheros® Super AG® means you can instantly input and access information whenever, wherever, and however needed.

  T H E   T R I G G E R

My sister's notebook! It's soooo small and lite so it means I can bring it anywhere I want. It even has a PLDT WeRoam internet connection!

See that tiny black antenna on the left side? That's the PLDT WeRoam, the first wireless broadband service that covers the entire Philippines, allows one to get connected either to the Internet or a company’s local area network (LAN) from anywhere in the country. It uses the smart communication cellsites that enables the 3G EDGE (Enhance Data Rate for Global Evolution) Technology for wireless internet connection.

Ang sakit2x sa puso. Parang malulunod sa luha yong heart ko.  The recovery was very slow and painful but I guess my bestfriend helped me cope with the loss by letting me meet James. Doon kami sa lamay nagmeet ni hubby.

7. If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
All X-Men superpowers combined. Hehe.

Henna Tattoo is fine but I would never get a permanent tattoo. Actually I have a henna tattoo right now. It's a Japanese Character for LOVE:

The feeling is mutual…

March 21, 2007

… hubby's sick and so am I.  From a week long cold virus, here I am suffering from a stomach virus. What did I do to deserve all these?  I've been vomiting and been going back and forth to the comfort room since this morning.  And hubby's body temperature was around 40 degrees celcius.  He is shivering  and didn't eat anything except for the Bird's Nest Soup that I ordered this afternoon. Poor hubby.  I couldn't stand seeing him sick. I hope and pray that he'd feel better tomorrow. And me too, of course.

Our diarrhea started when we drank this popular healthy drink with live lactobacillus. I'm not going to name it as we're not sure if it's really the cause but I guess you already figured it out. Hubby was the first victim and just to prove that this "okay ka ba tyan" drink didn't cause it, I drank one bottle and that's where my misery started. I started vomiting and had to make frequent trips to the CR just to expel whatever is needed to be expelled. Hubby's symptoms are different though. He started to feel weak and his temperature went over 37c and had diarrhea too. We're both going to see our doctor tomorrow because hubby suspects that what we are experiencing are symptoms of Gastroenteritis or some sort of stomach flu. I did a little research about it and here's what I found out:

" The main symptoms of viral gastroenteritis are watery diarrhea and vomiting although one or the other symptom may predominate. The affected person may also have headache, fever, and abdominal cramps ("stomach ache").

Let’s Get Personal…

March 20, 2007

… personal updates I mean.  Let me give you a recap of the happenings yesterday. (SUNDAY)

I woke up very early (8am is VERY early for me) because I needed to go to the Hair Spa to have my hair treated because I was invited to attend a Christening at around 11:00am at Redemptorist Church. You might ask what's the connection between the binyag and my hair. Hehe! Naah, I just want to look pretty and pamper my crowning glory.  The treatment took almost 2 hours so I texted hubby and told him to buy the gift for my inaanak coz I'm running out of time. Good thing, hubby didn't complain. Hehe. He doesn't like doing shopping on his own.

Here's a photo of Miguel Rafael, my new inaanak:

Miggy looks so handsome in his polo shirt.

And this is Ninang Che, caught texting inside the church! lol!
Actually, I was texting hubby on how good looking the priest is. Hubby's reply: Hala! Pamiga jud diha! Makasala jud ka kay Lord! Hahahaha!

Reception followed at Nanay Bebings. Look at Miggy's cake, it's so beautiful and really yummy too!
Poor lechon, had to be killed twice! lol!

We left at around 2pm and went straight to Davao Doctor's Hospital because Yna was admitted there early that morning.  Oh, poor baby. She was vomiting and had LBM so her parents decided to take her to the hospital right away. I hope she'll feel better soon because she will be celebrating her first birthday this Thursday, March 22.  From the hospital, we went to Mintal to have dinner with my family and went home around 10pm. It was such a long day but wasn't exhausting at all because I spent it with friends and family.

Davao Bloggers Party

March 18, 2007

Last night, the first ever gathering of Davao Bloggers took place at Netfront Internet Café and Coffee Shop. It was attended by bloggers all over Davao and was graced with the presence of Aileen Apolo of Google Philippines, Janette Toral of DigitalFilipino,, and Abe Olandres of YugaTech.

Good thing I gathered enough courage to attend the party even if my "date" didn't showed up. Leche! Inindian ba naman ako!?!   Oh wait, he did show up when the party was about to end but with another girl.  The nerve of that guy. I hate you Errol! Hehehe! Just kidding.  Actually, I texted him earlier that night that I am still going with or without him. I have a feeling that I am going to bring home the award for the CUTEST BLOG and I did! Hahaha! Good thing I followed my instincts. lol! I got a goodie from GOOGLE and will show it to you tomorrow. My digicam died on me. Tsk!

To read more about what transpired last night, please visit Ang Dabawenyo.
