Security Guards
August 5, 2010This is a sponsored guest post written by Brash on behalf of Security Guards. Post powered by Sponzai.
The Common Security Guard – Surplus To Requirements?
A security guard or a security officer is a privately employed individual who is paid to protect people, property or assets. For the majority of people, security guards will conjure up a mental image of overweight and balding men, out of breath as they slap-slap-slap after a shoplifting youth. In a society where even the police don’t garner any respect, you have to ask yourself the question – are security guards surplus to requirements?
Security guards are sometimes heralded by the name ‘Watchmen’ which conjures up mysterious and poetic characters like in the graphic novels of the same name, but often the reality can be somewhat different. However, the basic manifesto of security guards is to detect, deter, observe and report. Not exactly an inspiring maxim, but close enough.
What Do Security Guards Do Anyway?
So as stated before, security guards protect people, property and assets. Once you get right down to it, security guards can have quite a variety of different duties – it’s quite surprising how many facets ‘security’ can be broken down to. Security guards can be hired to prevent:-
-theft
-fire
-vandalism
-health and safety violations
-sabotage
-terrorism
-employee misconduct
The Impossible Figure Test
August 4, 2010
You are completely self sufficient. You are your own happiness. You are content with your life and the world. It’s hard to bum you out.
You see how everything is cyclical. You understand that nothing is permanent. Insightful and smart, you know enough to get how the world works yet still realize there is more to learn.
Car Donations for Vietnam Veterans
August 2, 2010Have you ever been at a loss as to what to do with your old car? It’s been in your garage occupying space and gathering dust. How you’d love to be rid of it but you have no idea to whom you could give it. And you don’t want to take it to the junk shop as it still looks good.
Here’s a novel idea, donate it. Yes, donate a car to the Vietnam Veterans of America. The Vietnam Veterans of America was chartered by Congress and has been helping veterans for over 30 years. They have an ongoing car donation program. The proceeds of the program will go a long way in providing for critical support services to our veterans who risked their lives and limbs to preserve our democratic way of life.
There’s more. Your car donation charity will entitle you to an IRS tax deduction. Plus, you don’t have to worry about transporting the car as the Vietnam Veterans of America will tow it away for you, free! I tell you the process is easy, fast and secure. You’re not just clearing your garage but also saying thank you to our brave soldiers for the sacrifices they made.
