Fully Operational!

November 22, 2009
Now that the additional desktop computers had been installed, my BIL can now offer more services in his internet cafe. It took them awhile to add more units because they don’t want to loan from the bank. They waited until they saved enough money for the expansion of their business. Loaning from the bank was never their option because the price of the computer unit would turn out twice the original amount because of the monthly interest. So instead of paying double, they started saving, cut on their unnecessary expenses and in one year, they were able to purchase 5 more units in cold cash!

Financial Accounting

November 15, 2009

Utah is known for its world-class ski resorts especially those found in Park City. As a matter of fact, Utes take pride in having the world’s greatest snow on earth. But because of the global economic crisis we are experiencing right now, even world-class ski resorts are forced to shut down. Perhaps if they have the help of this Las Vegas cpa firm by Kondler, Chavez & Koch, they would have stood a chance. Because one sure way to ensure a business running during this tough economic time is to continuously nurture its financial health. And it all starts in proper auditing, bookkeeping, etc. All of these  financial accounting services is being offered at the said CPA firm.

Blah.. Blah Blah!

The adrenaline rush over Pacquiao’s fight versus Cotto early this evening hasn’t subsided yet so let me blabber further more! LOL! There are two reasons why I like watching Pacman’s fight: one is I get to see his powerful punch combos and second is I get to hang out with my friends. It’s a perfect excuse to get together because regardless of the weather condition, friends will surely come. And this evening was no exception. Almost everyone came (except for R and K) each bringing their specialty for the potluck. And before the main event,  me and my girls had the time to catch up and chitchat about weight loss pills, winter 2009 fashion, the latest hairstyles, and just about anything girls can talk about. It was really fun!

The Best Boxer Ever!

I am not really a huge fan of boxing because I don’t find two people punching each other entertaining. But since Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao came in to the picture, I became interested and began following his boxing career. From a nobody boxer from General Santos City, Pacman “punched” his way up with the help of his trainer and promoters.  And this evening, just like any of his past fights, Pacman proved himself not just to the Filipino people but to the rest of the world that truly he is the best pound-for-pound fighter.

Freezing!

November 9, 2009

Our temp yesterday was down to 40’s the entire day so MIL and I spent the whole day wearing our sweats. I asked her if I should turn on the heater but she said she is fine just as long as she’s covered up from head to toe. Poor MIL. This is her first winter experience and I don’t know how her body will react once it starts snowing. Maybe we should get her a heated blanket. That way, her frail body won’t feel any cold. Or maybe, we can bring her to one of these fab orlando vacations to escape winter. LOL!

Eat Slowly!

I was checking wall updates at FaceBook when I saw this very interesting link shared by my schoolmate Issa. It’s all about how eating slowly will help weight control. According to the study conducted by researchers, results showed that eating too fast will block hormones that make you feel full.

The scientists conclude that “eating at a physiologically moderate pace leads to a more pronounced anorexigenic gut peptide [appetite reduction] response than eating very fast.”

So my friend, if you don’t want to get fat or you want to maintain your figure, be sure to savor your food and eat slowly! Otherwise, you will end up buying phentermine diet pills just to get back into shape. ;)

Freak Out Mode

Uh-oh! I almost freaked out this afternoon when I couldn’t find my SD card. I thought I accidentally threw it in the trash along with the other junk on my messy computer table when I cleaned it this the morning. I even called the husband at work just to ask him if he had seen it. I also checked our trash can just to make sure. But my biggest concern was — what if my lil boy got hold of it and ate it! It’s small and will fit right into his mouth if he wills it. *faints* I really freaked out! And that’s when I got a call from hubby and he told me to check my netbook. And lo and behold - there it was! Sticking in the built-in card reader slot! Thanks heavens it was safe and it didn’t end up in the lil boy’s tummy. Hehe!
