Oral Chelation Therapy

September 28, 2009

Unfortunately, heart disease runs in my family. My grandma (already deceased now) and aunt has enlarged hearts and I have MVP or Mitral Valve Prolapse. A heart condition where the anterior mitral valve leaflet prolapses into the left atrium during systole (the contraction of heart chambers). Although it sounds life-threatening, my cardiologist assured me that there’s nothing to worry about. It’s the most common heart valve abnormality and lucky me, my condition doesn’t require any treatment. But just in case my chest pains would recur again, he prescribed Metropolol.

But for those who have serious heart diseases such as arterial blockage, your condition needs serious attention. You need to see a specialist to prevent further complications. A friend of ours who is currently being treated for arterial blockage was recommended by his cardiologist to undergo chelation therapy. This is one of the newest trend in the medical world today. chelation uses a chemical compound known as EDTA or Ethylene Diamine Tetra-acetic Acid which binds molecules such as metals and minerals and remove them from the body. He takes an oral chelation drug prescribed by his doctor and so far his test results shows great improvement.

For those who are interested to know more about Chelation and how it works, you can visit this website here: www.cardiorenew.com. They offer valuable information about chelation therapy and they also have a product called Cardio Renew which they claim as the safe, fast and economical way to cleanse your veins and arteries.

A Romantic Getaway

Now that my mom-in-law is here, I feel like going away for a few days with the husband and go to an Adults Only Resort. It’s been awhile since we had a “romantic” time together and now is the perfect time because we have someone who can take care of our little boy while we are away. And speaking of romantic destinations, the El Dorado Spa Resorts & Hotels on the secluded white-sand beaches on the Mexican Riviera Maya is on top of my list. I have read so many good reviews about these hotels that’s why I’m 100% sure that the husband and I will have a great time.

Dizzy…

I feel dizzy right now. Probably because I’ve been lacking sleep the past few days. Or maybe I have anemia. Hmnn… enough guessing. I need to see a doctor to get the right diagnosis. I’ve been feeling like this for days now and I don’t like it. It makes me sleepy all the time.
Light-headedness happens when there is not enough blood getting to the brain. This can happen if there is a sudden drop in your blood pressure or you are dehydrated from vomiting, diarrhea, fever, or other causes.

I Miss Home…

A few more months from now and I’ll be home… :)

And by HOME, I am referring to Davao City, Philippines. The place where I was born and brought up. A place I will always come home to no matter how far I go.

Davao City is a sprawling metropolis of over a million people located in the Southeastern part of Mindanao. It is one of the largest cities in the world with a land area of 2,443.61 square kilometers.

It is a place blessed with natural advantages. The soil is very fertile and rich in minerals. The city has abundant source of potable water. Located in a typhoon-free zone, its tropical weather is characterized by even distribution of climatic elements all year round. Temperature ranges from 15 to 34˚C.

With predominantly migrant population, the city is a melting pot of cultures where diversities are appreciated and nurtured in a harmonious and peaceful environment. Major languages and dialects in the city are Filipino, Chinese, English and Cebuano.

The city has one of the highest literacy rates in Asia at 98.3%. Its labor force is cited as among the best in the region: educated, easily trainable, industrious, and English speaking.

Davao is a place of perfect balance. It is fast-paced yet relaxed where the luxuries of cosmopolitan living complement the breathtaking beauty of the great outdoors.

Davao City is an investment haven, a place of perfect balance… where business and pleasure blend so well.

I Miss My Cousins!

I was browsing my Friendster account to check if there are new updates from family and friends back in the Philippines when I saw the newly uploaded photos from my cousins. The snapshots were taken at Paradise Island, one of the popular white beaches in the Island Garden City of Samal. They look like they really had a great time at the beach.  You can see it on the big smiles on their faces. How I wish I was there with them… I miss them so much. I am so looking forward to be hanging out with them when I go home next year. :)
