It’s Sorting Time!

July 23, 2010

We’re moving to a new apartment in two weeks time that’s why I already started sorting our stuff so I’ll know which ones we’re keeping and which ones are to be donated or sent back home in our balikbayan box. So far I am done sorting hubby’s closet. Actually, it only took me an hour to sort his stuff because he doesn’t have that much clothes. He’s the kind of guy who doesn’t really care much about dressing up. I tried giving him some basic lessons on men’s clothing though but it didn’t work. I guess I’m not convincing enough. But anyway, there’s also an advantage because if he’s into clothes and all that, well, I will have to spend more hours just sorting his stuff.

Friday Food Fun: Summer Produce

Lots of people have summer vegetable gardens or fruit orchards. Tell me about your garden or orchard if you have one.

Well, I don’t have a garden of my own because we don’t have the space for it but my friends D&M have one on their backyard and  I sometimes help them tend it. So for this meme, I am going to talk about their garden. ;)

1. What do you grow? They grow squash, tomatoes, grapes, bell peppers, corn, eggplant, and so much more!

2. Do you like everything you grow or is there some stuff you grow only for other people? I like all of them and I’m really glad because D&M would always share their produce to me.

3. What are some of your favorite dishes to make with fresh produce (if the recipes are simple, include them)? Stir fry veggie!

4. Is there anything you love fresh that you won’t eat if it’s not fresh? Cucumbers.

5. Are there things you have planted in the past that you no longer plant because you think that store-bought is good enough considering the work you have to do for fresh? None so far.

I So Agree!

July 19, 2010

“All of us have something in our past that we regret doing… it may have been an honest mistake, a moral failure, or a foolish decision… we wish it hadn’t, but it remains in our mind and often drags us down… but life doesn’t have to be that way… while the past remains part of our lives, it doesn’t determine our future… So, better look ahead and prepare than to look back and despair…”

Secured Investment

July 15, 2010
Being a single mom makes planning for my future and retirement more crucial. World economy has not been so friendly recently, and I’m dead worried of what’s going to be after a decade or so for my two kiddos. I admit I’m lucky to have a well-paid job envied by friends.  Just half a year ago, my savings account in the bank had really been welling and my best friend of all times tells me I should be investing the money for good. Indeed, she is the best of my friends when she introduced me to buy gold coins. It’s one of the best ways to have power over my money as these gold coins are more secured than paper currency. I did not have any worries when deciding on it because the professionals at the United States Gold Bureau gave me priceless advice in making the choice of a lifetime investment for myself and my children.

A Warning!

To all those who are taking diet pills to lose weight, always double check with your doctor if the ingredients used in that pill are 100% safe. I’m reminding you because I have been reading a lot of apidexin scam stories and who knows you might be one of the victims. There are a lot of crooks out there so be vigilant. Do your own research or ask the authorities before taking any diet pill.

Prenatal Vitamins

One of the challenges I faced when I was pregnant with my lil boy was drinking the prenatal vitamin religiously. It was so hard for me to drink it daily because its humongous size and odd taste made me throw up. So instead of taking those  vitamins prescribed by my OB, I tried to look for over the counter prenatal vitamins and I found those gel capsules more tolerable. So with my OB’s permission, I switched to a new prenatal vitamin and I stopped feeling guilty because I know I’m supplying my lil boy all the nutrients he needed.
